Milestone Infrastructure is delighted to announce that its Yard Team has won Gold at the Hinkley Point C Excellence Awards.

Awarded in the ‘Making a Positive Change’ category, Milestone celebrated its win at the ceremony, held at the Weston-Super-Mare Winter Gardens.

Milestone’s Yard Team was recognised for its exemplary yard work, particularly its work to ensure Plant, vehicle, people interface (PVPI) is planned and controlled smoothly.

Milestone has been providing site operations, including civil engineering capability, highway maintenance, cleansing, winterisation, grounds maintenance and habitat at Hinkley Point C since 2016. The work that Milestone undertakes ensures that the site is kept in a condition which allows operatives to build the power station.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rob Jordan, Project Construction Director at EDF, said: “We have the honour of recognising the efforts of those who have shone, who have delivered with passion and personal ownership, and whose colleagues have been so impressed that they nominated them for these awards. The depth of global talent across our Project is simply outstanding.”

Matthew Welham, Working Supervisor at Milestone, said: “We are such a small contract of only around 40 people, so the fact we have won is a big achievement. I’m surprised, happy and overwhelmed with the award. It’s way beyond our expectations and we’re so proud.”

Daniel Baker, Project Director at Milestone Infrastructure, said: “ It’s fantastic that the team’s hard work and commitment to keeping themselves and their colleagues safe has been recognised, they set an example to proud of.”

We are extremely proud of our colleagues, who have upheld incredible standards throughout the project. Congratulations to everyone involved.
